About Mr. J. Hahnel Experience I am an orthopaedic consultant sub-specialising in primary (first time) and revision hip and knee replacements as well as arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery to the knee. I have a specialist interest in robotic surgery using the MAKO robotic assisted hip. I perform in the region of 300 joint replacement operations each year, compared to a national average 120. I also keep a keen interest in trauma management and surgery mainly as part of my NHS practice. I have maintained an excellent revision rate for both hip and knee replacement surgery as evidenced in the national comparative revision funnel plots as below comparing my own practice to every other surgeon in the country performing this type of surgery: Similarly my patients have completed satisfaction surveys pre and post operatively that are nationally collected and compared to all other surgeons in the country. This is called PROMS data (Patient Reported Outcome Measures). The following are a sample of my excellent outcome data known as Oxford Hip and Knee Score.
